What is AirCastLive?

AirCastLive is a mobile iPhone & Android video application that gives users the choice to record and share personal videos with their family/friends or post them to the world easily and quickly.

How do I use the application?

The first time you use either the iPhone App or the Android App, we recommend that you set up the private settings in the “settings” page first. This is where you will enter the emails of those people you would like to share videos. You can import emails from your iPhone’s contacts by pressing the blue envelope icons in the settings page. After adding the emails, be sure to hit the “save” button on the bottom of the page. These emails will remain saved until you change or delete them. Then hit Cancel to go back to the main screen.

After you’ve saved your private emails, simply press Start within the iPhone App or Android App to go to the recording page. Simple press start to begin recording. If you’d like to record yourself using the front facing camera, simply press the camera icon on the page to activate the front-facing camera (if available on your device).

Once the recording is completed, you’ll be prompted to give your video a title and a description. You will then be prompted to post the video as a “private” video, or to share it “publicly” by pressing the icons on the bottom of the screen.

Private videos are emailed to your private contacts that you added to the application. Use this setting to post video directly to your Facebook page or personal YouTube channel (see below for more details).

Public videos are automatically posted to the AirCastLive YouTube Channel for the whole world to see!

Why do you give me a choice to share publicly or privately?

We take your privacy seriously, and we recognize that there are times when you want to keep some videos private. Most people don’t realize that when you post a video Facebook or YouTube, that those videos can be found and viewed by all sorts of people on the internet.

The default setting of the application is to keep all of your videos private. This way, you won’t mistakenly post videos of your kids on the internet. By asking you to designate a video as “public” you are making a conscience choice to do so.

Where are my videos saved?

All of your videos (both private or public) will be saved in within the iPhone App or the Android App, on your “video” page. This page can be accessed on the main screen within the mobile application.

Can I make a private video public?

Yes. Within the iPhone or Android App, simply press the public icon next to the video you would like to share in the videos page.

Can I make a public video private?

No. Once the video is published on the Net, it’s out there for everyone to see.

How do I view a video that I have recorded previously?

Within the iPhone or Android App, go to the videos page and press the video screen cap to play the video.

Where do my public videos get uploaded to, and how can I see them?

All public videos get uploaded automatically to AirCastLive’s YouTube Channel. You can view your posted videos athttp://www.youtube.com/user/aircastlive or by pressing the link on the “public” section of the “settings” page within either the iPhone or Android App.

Can I post my videos to my own YouTube Page?

You bet! When you create your own page/channel on YouTube, they provide you with an email address (@m.youtube.com) to email your videos from you own mobile phone or computer via email. Within either the iPhone App or the Android App, simply add this email to your private email list and send your video to YouTube like it’s a private video.

Can I upload my videos to my own Facebook page?

Absolutely! Just like YouTube (see above) Facebook provides each member a specific mobile email address in order to post videos to the users Facebook page. Simple add this email address to your private distribution list on the "settings" page of either the iPhone or the Android App and then email the video to Facebook like it’s a private video. For instruction on how to find your specific mobile upload email address, please log-in to Facebook, and then go to: http://www.facebook.com/mobile/

My friends received my email, but the attachment wasn’t included. Any idea why?

When sending private videos, the videos are sent using the email provider you set up on your phone. Each email provider has their own limits on the size of the attachments that you can send via their service. For example, Yahoo’s free email service limits attachments to 10MB. (20MB for Yahoo Plus) So, it might be that your video is too long and therefore too large to send via your emails limits. This is a limitation of your email provider and not the iPhone or Android application. We recommend that you keep your videos to less than 5 mins. to ensure that the email will go through.

Do you support live video streaming?

Not yet. But we’re working on it.
